On October 19th 2023, the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) was updated to enable Israeli citizens and nationals to apply to enter the United States for tourism or business purposes. The first day Israelis could apply for ESTA was meant to be November 30, 2023, however due to the circumstances around the October 2023 conflict in Israel, the date was brought forward to October 19th 2023. An approved ESTA authorization is valid for two years, offering convenience and flexibility to travelers.
Israeli citizens with valid B-1/B-2 visas can continue using them for business and tourist travel to the United States. However, ESTA presents an efficient and user-friendly alternative for future travel authorization.
ESTA applications can be conveniently submitted online, or travelers can opt to download the "ESTA Mobile" app through the iOS App Store or Google Play store.
